Private William Hek served with 7th (Light Infantry) Parachute Battalion and took part in the Normandy campaign, during Op Overlord.He died on 6 June 1944, aged 22 years old. He is now commemorated on the Memorial at La Delivrande War Cemetery, Douvres, near Caen, Normandy.
