Graham R Moore enlisted into The General Service Corps and was later posted to the Queen's Own Royal West Kent Regiment.

In June 1945 he volunteered for airborne forces and undertook parachute jump training course B174 which ran at RAF Ringway from 30 July to 14 August 1945. The course instructors’ comments Pte Moore: V.G. [Very Good], Recommended as an NCO [Non Commissioned Officer]. Keen and well disciplined.

He was posted to T Company, the 1st Battalion, the Parachute Regiment (1st Para Bn) and served in Palestine.
