Lance Sergeant Arthur Christmas Evans, son of Thomas and Lucy Evans and husband to Margaret Wentworth Evans of Elsecar, Yorkshire served with the 3rd Parachute Battalion. He took part in the Battle of Arnhem during Op Market Garden.He died on 18 September 1944 aged 25 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
