Sergeant George Hunter Dawson, son of Peter and Margaret Dawson and husband of Christina Millar Dawson, of Renfrew served with the 5th Parachute (Scottish) Battalion in Italy as part of 2nd Independent Parachute Brigade.He died aged 29 on 15 April 1944 and is buried at Cassino War Cemetery.
