William Jack Partington, the son William and Lily Partington, of Maghull, Lancashire served with the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and was attached to the 10th Parachute Battalion on Operation Market Garden.Sergeant Partington was killed aged 22 years on 18 September 1944 and was given a field burial east of Ginkel Heath. In May 1947 Sgt Partington was reinterred in the Jonkerbos War Cemetery, near Nijmegen.
