Private Edward Balunas was the son of Simonas and Marcele Balunas, and the husband of Jane Balunas, of New York City, USA. He served with 5th (Scottish) Parachute Battalion and took part in the Italian campaign.Private Balunas died on 13 May 1944, aged 31 years old. He is now buried at Cassino War Cemetery, Italy.
