Corporal Robert Buchanan served as a Section Second-in-Command with 7 Platoon, S Company, 1st Parachute Battalion and took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.Corporal Buchanan died on 18 September 1944. He is now commemorated on the Memorial at Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery, near Nijmegen.
