Lance Corporal William Boyd, son of William and Jessie McLellan Boyd, of Paisley, Renfrewshire, served with 12th (Yorkshire) Parachute Battalion. He took part in the Normandy campaign.Lance Corporal Boyd died on 10 July 1944, aged 20 years old. He is now buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Normandy.
