Robert Heywood Crampton, of Banff, Canada, successfully completed his parachute training on the 30 September 1946.Gunner Crampton was posted to the Reserve Battalion in Piddlehinton. He served with 334 (Airborne) Forward Observer Battery RA in Palestine.
Gnr Crampton was killed by terrorists on 15 February 1948 at Prophet's Steps near Haifa. He is now buried in Haifa War Cemetery, Palestine.
