Desmond Aubrey Hart, the son Aubrey Alma and Eva Thurling Hart, of Norwich, volunteered for airborne forces in 1945.He successfully completed his parachute training on 21 July 1945 and it was noted that he was “Very keen and well disciplined”.

Corporal Hart was posted to the Holding Battalion before being posted into 2nd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment and went to Palestine.

He died on 21 September 1946 and is now buried at Ramleh War Cemetery.
