James Harry Nash, son of Harry and Mary Nash, of Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, enlisted into the Somerset Light Infantry in July 1940.He then volunteered for airborne forces and trained as a Glider Pilot was posted to 1st Wing, The Glider Pilot Regiment.
Sgt Nash flew elements of 5th Para Bn HQ into Landing Zone N. Sgt Nash died of wounds received from flak on D Day, 6 June 1944 in Normandy, aged 24 and is buried in Ranville Churchyard, Normandy.
