Lance Corporal Alfred Brown was the son of Arthur and Ethel Brown, of Sunderland, Co Durham, and the husband of Elizabeth Annie Brown, of Millfield, Sunderland. He served with 13th (South Lancs) Parachute Battalion and took part in the D-Day landings to Normandy, during Op Overlord.Lance Corporal Brown died on 10 June 1944, aged 31 years old. He is now buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Normandy.
