Stanley H Gough transferred from 13th Battalion Royal Welch Fusiliers to Airborne Forces on 3 January 1945.  He completed parachute course 150 at Ringway in February 1945.

He was then posted to 7th (Light Infantry) Parachute Battalion, A Coy Signal Section .  He took part in operation Varsity as number 15 aboard plane number 213. 

Posted back to Parachute Depot to commence refresher course, he completed course R184 in November 1945 and finally returned to 7th LI Battalion in Palestine via holding, reserve battalions and AFEE  before finally being demobbed in July 1947.
