Airborne Assault MuseumPatrick Simon Edmonds was born in 1923.He was commissioned from the ranks to the East Surrey Regiment shortly after his 20th birthday in December 1943.
In mid-1944, he joined Airborne Forces, transferring to the Glider Pilot Regiment, with whom he served until early 1946.
Lt Edmonds transferred to the Royal Fusiliers in February 1946, with whom he remained until retirement in early January 1945, granted the Honorary rank of Major.
