John Thomas Peat was a professional acrobat before he enlisted, was successfully parachute jump trained at RAF Ring on Course 79. A 'long' course of 8 descents from balloon and aircraft.
This course ran between 23 August and 2 September 1943. The report notes that "the PFA men were older and were at all times punctual and smart". John's instructor noted that John was "Above average. Worked well." He was then posted to 127 Parachute Field Ambulance.
