Wayne Gilsenan enlisted into The Royal Artillery in 1977.He was posted to 7th Field Regiment Royal Horse Artillery (RHA), which returned to an airborne role in 1983 and was once more designated 7th Parachute Regiment RHA.

Staff Sergeant Gilsenan retired after 22 years service in 1999
