Sapper Peter Greig was the son of Peter and Appleana Tait Robertson Greig, and husband of Margaret Marion Greig, of Edinburgh. He served with 9th (Airborne) Field Company, Royal Engineers, and took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.He died on 18 September 1944, aged 41 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
