Private John 'Jack' Frost joined C Company, The 2nd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment (2 PARA) in 1956, and served with the Battalion in Cyprus and Suez, before a deployment to Jordan.He was known as 'Jack' by fellow soldiers who recalled his namesake in the Battalion's heritage, Maj Gen 'Johnny' Frost, and supposed 'I would not live up to his standard - so true!'.
