Douglas 'Sid' Moodie followed his father and three brothers into the Parachute Regiment in September 1982. He enlisted with The Regiment in September 1982. However unfortunately due to a knee injury in July 1983 Doug was medically discharged 28 October 1983.  

Sid Moodie is currently a member of the Pathfinder Parachute group, jumping for the veterans at Normandy and Arnhem.

Sid was the first parachutist to land on DZ 'K' in Normandy,  and DZ 'X' Renkum, Arnhem in 2010, since 1944, and was honoured to jump over the Merville battery on the 70th anniversary of D Day. 

Also jumped at DZ 'K' Sannerville on the 75th anniversary of D day.
