Peter Charles Williams enlisted in the Welsh Guards before volunteering for Airborne Forces.He qualified as a military parachutist on course 93, which ran at RAF Ringway from 29 November to 13 December 1943. The course report states: ‘Williams has set a very good example, worked well.’
He was posted to The 10th Parachute Battalion (10th Para Bn), which, in September 1944 jumped into Arnhem for Operation Market Garden.
At some point in his service, he contracted Tuberculosis (TB).
Sgt Williams was demobbed in January 1946.
