William Larnach transferred to Depot Para from The Royal Signals in 1978. Passed out in 1979 with 450 Platoon, and successfully passed parachute jump instruction in the January of that year. 

He was posted C Coy 1 Para. Then, later moved to Signal Platoon 1980 to 1987.

William served in Northern Ireland, Italy, Denmark, Canada, Hong Kong, and Norway.

Was a Regimental Signal Instructor.
