John Kelvey was the son of James and Helen Kelvey, of Stratford, Essex.Driver Kelvey was posted to 716 Airborne Light Composite Company, the Royal Army Service Corps where he served in Palestine.

He was killed on the 10 March 1946 and is now buried in Ramleh War Cemetery, Israel.
