John Royston Woozley was born in Camberwell on 4 May 1927.After volunteering for airborne forces, Sergeant Woozley served with 317 (Airbone) Field Security Section, Intelligence Corps (317 FSS), in Palestine.
Sgt Woozley was shot whilst riding his motorbike near an illegal Arab checkpoint on 5 January 1948, he was 20 years old and is now buried in Khayat Beach War Cemetery.
