Frank Waters volunteered for the RAF after D-Day, but was not required, however in 1945 he was transferred to the Army and joined the Parachute Regiment.
Frank was successfully parachute jump trained at RAF Ringway on Course B180.
He was posted to Palestine in June 1946 and rose to the rank of Sergeant a year later.
Demobilised in January 1948, he later worked for the Sterling Armament Company, where he became Chief Designer, having trained under George Patchett, the designer of the Sterling SMG. He passed away in December 1991.
