His family stated :

"After Laurie left full time Para he went as a PSI for TA Para Starting off in Brighouse then 4 Para Leeds as a CSM, which were then transferred to B squadron 23 SAS at Leeds. 

In his time with 23 he was SSM running Leeds and Goole and formed the a TA centre at Prudeo Newcastle he eventually retired from the TA in 1972."
