Private Ernest Wood was the son of William and Jessie Wood, of Birmingham, and the husband of Lucy Elizabeth Wood, of Aston, Birmingham. He served with 3rd Parachute Battalion and took part in the North African campaign.Private Wood died on 6 January 1943, aged 29 years old. He is now commemorated on the Memorial at Medjez-el-Bab War Cemetery, Tunisia.
