Kenneth Trevor Chittleburgh was the son of Charles Frederick and May Mildred Chittleburgh, of Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. A talented athlete prior to the war, he had been awarded a Norfolk County Swimming Championship. During the Second World War Kenneth joined the Glider Pilot Regiment as a Lieutenant. By September 1944, he had become part of 5 Flight, D Squadron of the 1st Wing, Glider Pilot Regiment and served in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.

Lieutenant Chittleburgh died on 21 September 1944, aged 23 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
