Sgt Peter Cole served with the 1st Battalion, The Parachute Regiment for 12 years. He then went on to serve with the Rhodesian SAS and the South African Army, ending up as a Major. Peter died on the 22nd December 2018 in Durban, South Africa.

The memorial service was held at the Rhodesian SAS plinth in Durban.
