Sergeant Richard Robson served with the 12th Para Bn, and took part in the D-Day landings to Normandy on 6 June 1944. He had previously served with The Green Howards.
He was jump trained at RAF Ringway on Course 69. This course ran between 21 June and 1 July 1943. Richard is listed as a L/Cpl in this course report. His instructor noted this about his performance on the course:
"Quiet, impressive NCO and good jumper"
Sergeant Robson died on 6 June 1944, aged 27 years old. He is now buried at Ranville Churchyard, near the War Cemetery, in Normandy.
