Private Cyril Pheasant, son of John and Elizabeth Pheasant, of Skelmersdale, Lancashire, served with 1st Parachute Battalion. He took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.He died of wounds on 5 November 1944, aged 20 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
