Sergeant Denzil Payne Astley, son of Evan and Agness Bella Astley, of Llanfair Caereinion, Montgomeryshire, served with 6th (Royal Welch) Parachute Battalion. He took part in the Greek campaign, during Op Manna.Sergeant Astley died on 11 December 1944, aged 20 years old. He is now buried at Phaleron War Cemetery, Greece.
