Guardsman Jim A O'Connor served with the Irish Guards. He began his Guards career in the 1953, and served in the Canal Zone during three years with the Irish Guards.He transferred to No 1 (Guards) Independent Parachute Company in 1956 and took part in the deployments to Cyprus and Suez in 1956, and later, to Jordan in 1958.
He remains active in the veterans community, as part of the Guards Parachute Association.
