Corporal of Horse W A G Maskell served with the Royal Horse Guards.His career with No 1 (Guards) Independent Parachute Company included overseas deployments in Kenya, Cyprus, Malaya and Hong Kong, whilst he was also awarded the GSM for service in Northern Ireland.

He remains active in the veterans community, as part of the Guards Parachute Association.
