Cpl Dawson took part in parachute training course 31 at RAF Ringway (Now Manchester Airport). The course lasted from the 8th -18th October 1942. It was noted that spirits were very high on the course. Upon successful completion he was attached to 1st Parachute Battalion with the Royal Army Medical Corps. We have him serving with S Company specifically in Arnhem before being taken as a Prisoner of War
