Private Rex George Bowerman was the son of Warrant Officer John William Bowerman (RAF), and Norah Laing Bowerman, of Bicester, Oxfordshire. He served with 12th (Yorkshire) Parachute Battalion and took part in the D-Day landings, during Op Overlord on 5-6 June 1944.Private Bowerman died on 9 June 1944, aged 20 years old. He is now buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Normandy.
