Robert Frank Pragnell was the son of Frank and Lucy Pragnell. He enlisted in the Royal Army Service Corps, and volunteered for Airborne forces.
Driver Pragnell successfully completed Air Despatcher training and was posted to 63 (Airborne) Composite Company, Royal Army Service Corps, and took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).
Dvr Pragnell was killed in action on 20 September 1944, aged 38, when Stirling LK-556, crashed alongside Valburgseweg between Elst and Valburg. Robert has no known grave and is commemorated on the Groesbeek Memorial to the Missing.
