Private Charles Edward Bennett was the son of Claud and Edith Bennett, of Edgware, Middlesex, and husband of Ellen Charlotte Bennett, of West Finchley, Middlesex. He served with C Company, 156 Parachute Battalion and took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.Private Bennett died on 25 September 1944, aged 22 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
