Private Herbert William Ball was the son of William George and Florence Elizabeth Ball, and the husband of Monica Nellie Ball, of Crick. He served with 2nd Parachute Battalion.

Private Ball died in the UK on 28 June 1944, aged 22 years old. He is now buried at St Margaret Churchyard, Crick, Northamptonshire.
