Private James Loughney served with C Company 1 PARA.23 year old Pte Loughney was killed along with L/Cpl Vanden in a parachute accident on an authorised night jump onto Everleigh drop zone on Exercise PEGASUS TRAIL on 21 May 1979.

He is buried at Pleasington Cemetery, Blackburn.
