Michael James Dodkin enlisted in December 1960 and was posted to B Company, 3 PARA at Guillemont Barracks, Cove just prior to the battalion being posted to Bahrain for 12 months.He served with 3 PARA in Radfan and British Guyana before training as a driver and being posted to Motor Transport Platoon.

Pte Dodkin served with MT Platoon, 3 PARA, until his discharge in 1966.
