Rifleman Daniel Anderson, son of James and Margaret Anderson, of Edinburgh served with 1st (Airborne) Battalion, Royal Ulster Rifles and took part in the glider insertion to the Rhine Crossing, during Op Varsity.Rifleman Anderson died on the first day, 24 March 1945, aged 24 years old. He is now buried at Venray War Cemetery, Limburg.
