Airborne Assault MuseumChristopher Wheeler enlisted into The Parachute Regiment in October 1963 and attended his parachute training course at RAF Abingdon between 11 and 25 January 1964.Lance Bombardier Wheeler served with 289 Parachute Light Regiment RHA (TA), taking part in a NATO exercise in Turkey. He also served with 289 Parachute Battery RHA (V) for a short time before leaving in 1967.
In 1974 Lance Bombardier re-joined 1 Parachute Provost Platoon RMP (V), leaving when the unit disbanded in 1978.
