Sapper Robert Boyle, son of James and Isabella Boyle, of Newarthill, Lanarkshire, served with 3rd Parachute Squadron, Royal Engineers. He took part in the Ardennes offensive in the winter of 1944-5.Sapper Boyle died on 12 February 1945, aged 20 years old. He is now buried at Venray War Cemetery, Limburg in Holland.
