Airborne Assault MuseumEdward Patrick Johnson enlisted into the West Yorkshire Regiment and volunteered for airborne forces in May 1945.Private Johnson qualified as a military parachutist on course 173, which ran at RAF Ringway from 23 July to 8 August 1945, and was initially posted to the Holding Battalion.
He was then posted to The 2nd Parachute Battalion and served in Palestine.
Pte Johnson was demobbed in February 1948.
