Sergeant Joseph Albert Beech, son of John and Cathrine Beech, of Seaforth, Liverpool, served with 7th (Light Infantry) Parachute Battalion. He took part in the D-Day landings to Normandy, during Op Overlord on 5-6 June 1944.Sergeant Beech died on 6 June 1944, aged 25 years old. He is now buried in a joint grave at La Deliverandes War Cemetery, Douvres-la-Deliverande, near Caen, Normandy.
