W J Harris was the son of William James Harris and Margaret Harris, of Pontypridd, Glamorgan.He successfully completed his training at Ringway on 3 August 1942.
Company Sergeant Major Harris was posted to 6th Battalion (Royal Welch Fusiliers), The Parachute Regiment where he served in Italy.
He died on 10 September 1943 and is now buried in Bari War Cemetery, Italy.
