Private Harold Benton, son of Joseph Charles and Mabel Benton, of Clipstone, Nottinghamshire, served with 1st Parachute Battalion. He took part in the North African campaign, during Op Torch.Private Benton died on New Year's Day, 1943, aged 22 years old. He is now commemorated on the Memorial at Medjez-el-Bab War Cemetery, Tunisia.
