Vincent Paul King was the son of Cornelius and Elsie King, of Brooks Bar, Manchester.

He successfully completed his parachute training at Ringway on 27th May 1944. It was noted that King was a "good jumper. Confident. Morale very good. Well disciplined"

Private King was then posted to 13th Battalion, The Parachute Regiment, where he served in Ardennes.

He died on 3 January 1945 and is now buried in Hotton War Cemetery, Belgium.
