Airborne Assault MuseumI joined Junior Parachute Company in January 1967. After passing through Depot PARA, I joined B Coy 1 PARA in February 1969 and went to A Coy in 1970.I served as a Cpl at Depot PARA from 1976 to 1978 and went to 1 PARA as Sgt in 1978. I was posted to 15 PARA as Permanent Staff Instructor (PSI) from1980 to 1982, returning to 1 PARA in 1982 as Colour Sergeant.
From 1983 to 1984 I served as PSI with 2 Bn The Ulster Defence Regiment (UDR). In 1984 I transfered to the UDR's permanent cadre and was commissioned as an officer. I continued with them, and its successor The Royal Irish Regiment (R IRISH), until I retired from full time service in 2005 as a Major.
Since then I have served part time as a Captain (PSAO 2) R IRISH (V) from 2005 to date.
