Corporal Thomas John Murray Bell, son of Thomas and Janet Bell, of Auldgerth, Dumfriesshire, served with 5th (Scottish) Parachute Battalion. He took part in the Italian campaign, during Winter 1943-4.Corporal Bell died on 23 January 1944, aged 20 years old. He is now buried at Sangro River War Cemetery, near Taranto, Italy.
